Saving Flames

Postby Apo-llo » Tue Jun 28, 2011 7:21 pm

Can anyone unconfuse me about the various ways to save Flames.
At the moment I have to go to: AppData/Local/VirtualStore/Program Files/Apophysis 7x to find where my feeble attempts have dissapeared to.
Computer incompetent I am.
I would like to be able to put all results in an Apo7 folder of my own making.
Is there anyone out there who can lead me there.
What confuses me is the need to have something like: Savings/apo7.flame/Fire.flame. You can tell me why I need TWO of the .flame suffixes if you like.
But PLEASE tell me how to create it!

Help needed, please. I'm using Apophysis 2.09 with no mods to the installation except for adding some plugins; Win XP, E7400 Core 2 Duo CPU, 3.2 GB ram (32-bit OS), Radeon HD5570 graphics card. When I enlarge a fractal substantially (see example below), it loads OK on screen, but on rendering, the system hangs between completing the render (typically 2-4 h) and saving it as a png. 'Normal' renders save in ca 10 s, but I've left the system for up to 12 hours without it saving for these 'Zoomed' renders. I use png because I like the transparency. Can anybody tell me what's going on, and how to save these renders? Not sure that I'm using the term 'zoom' correctly here. With thanks, MartinS

Edit: I'm generating A3-sized renders (4961x3508 px).

Example:
<flame name="Apophysis-111009-176b" version="Apophysis 2.09" size="555 427" center="0.226848643816837 -0.954962433911949" scale="213.913146465121" zoom="2.11880539320782" oversample="1" filter="0.5" quality="50" background="0 0 0" brightness="4" gamma="4" >
