I'm not sure I understand the problem. You can resize the Apophysis window by grabbing the bottom right corner and dragging. Does this help?

Hello Mark. thanks for your reply,, i think i have sorted the problem out this morning.. just to explain what was happening... when i open APO 2.09. the opening random flame was only a third the size of the main window and was situated in the middle third.. i appreciate that i could resize it by dragging etc. but even after resizing, if i then changed the image to a new one or selected a random flame from the left column it would revert back to a third of its size..
I hope this makes sense!!! however what i did to remedy the situation (i hope) was to delete all the first random generated flames from the left hand column, and the opened a flame pack which i had downloaded and they filled the whole window . i then closed the programme down and re-loaded it a few times and up to now it seems to be OK Thanks again for trying to help, i will let you know if i have any further problems ....Best Regards Stan.

You could try F5 to open the Adjust window, then select the Image Size tab, where you can either use the drop-down on the left to pick dimensions or type in your preferred dimensions. Make sure the 'Resize Main Window' box is checked, then click on Apply. That should resize the random flame showing in the main window.
