Having Trouble With Gradients

Postby Wylder » Mon May 16, 2011 4:27 am

Hey all! I'm having some trouble with gradients, and I'm hoping someone can help me fix it. Basically, my flames all end up a single color, no matter which gradient I use or how I adjust the gradient frequency. As I rotate through any given gradient, the flame will change color, but the whole thing is the same color.

I have some older designs that I created several years ago, with 2.02, and they have multiple colors throughout the image. Is this a bug in 2.09, or am I missing something? Any help at all will be greatly appreciated!

You need to set the colour value for your transforms to different values (they all default to 0 I believe). This works in conjunction with colour speed to select colours from your palette.

Oh! Thanks for that!

Now, could you give me some examples? I'm not sure how the transforms should be set? Or do you just pick some random number for each transform?

I'm going through Claire Jones' tutorials today. I didn't see anything about the colors in the one tut. Any additional advice would be greatly appreciated!

OK, never mind. I figured out what you were talking about, and got it to work right. Thanks again for the info!
