Using Flam4OCL

Postby txriddle » Wed Aug 15, 2012 9:16 am

HI,
Many thanks for all the work put into the GPU rendering!

Please excuse my ignorance but is there a basic description of how to use FLAM4OCL?

I've downloaded and run the executables expecting an interface like the previous Cuda renderer...

Any pointers or a brief explanation would be greatly appreciated!- I didnt see anything in the rev notes that I could understand as basic instructions.

Thanks in advance,
Tom

I am in the same boat. Here is the best info I could find:

Code: Select all
flam4ocl -convert myflame.flame myflame.flam4 -render myflame.flam4 -output test.png -resolution 3072 1920 -quality 500

from http://sourceforge.net/projects/flam4/f ... ic/4522674

My current challenge is getting scale to work (if it's possible). I used flam4cuda about a year ago and rendered some beautiful high resolution batches of pngs from electric sheep flames. All I needed to do (as I remember) was increase the resolution and the scale in the flam3 file. This does not seem to be the case with flam4ocl unfortunately.
